The Love of My Life is Back: Dexter Recap
I've been waiting way too long for my hubby Dexter Morgan to come back into my life. Last night's premiere started off right where last season ended. Trinity murdered Rita (Dexter's wife) and the aftermath began. People were confused why Dexter did not seem as distraught as they thought he would be in that situation. As us fans know, its extremely hard for Dexter to show any emotion. At one point, I didn't think he was going to show up to Rita's funeral but he's too smart for that. He knows people will figure him out.
Thank The Cable God for DVR. Boardwalk Empire comes on at the same exact time Dexter does. I can't live without both.

Boardwalk Empire Simply Brilliant
Bravo, Martin Scorsese! I watched the premiere of Boardwalk Empire last night and I knew it was going to be a hit show 5 mins in. The show is set in the 1920's during the prohibition era in Atlantic City. Steve Buscemi plays Nucky Thompson, a county treasurer who is a little crooked to say the least. I was pleasantly surprised to see Stephen Graham (you may know him from one of my favorite movies Snatch) play Al Capone. What an amazing choice. I predict he will become the unconventional sex symbol (like Tony Soprano was).
This show brings back the one element television has been missing...Great Acting.

Tornado Hits New York City
I left work yesterday and saw an array of black clouds in the sky. I knew something was up but I had NO CLUE there was going to be a tornado. By the time I got to my apartment downtown, the tornado touched down. It happened around 6pm. I ran into my apartment and refused to leave. LOL. I'm a northeast girl so I am not used to tornadoes or twisters. It freaked me out. Apparently, Brooklyn & Queens got hit the the hardest.

What Kanye's "Runaway" Means to Me
Kanye performed this track at the VMA's on Sunday night. I adore this record because I can definitely identify with it. Every girl has dealt with "Assholes" or "Douchebags." I know probably 90% of the men I've ever dated are one or the other (no exaggeration) Maybe it's because I'm still so young? Not sure. Breaking off ties with men is not exactly easy, but I give myself credit for actually doing it. A lot of women don't...and we all see how they end up *sigh*
So...I'd like to give myself a toast for running away from these assholes and never forgetting my self-worth.

F.A.M.E. Movement Event with The Ladies for NY Fashion Week
The Glam Squad (Me, Erin Moyer & Crystal Tush) went to the F.A.M.E. Celebration of Curves Event last might for NY Fashion Week. America's Next Top Model contestant Tocarra Jones was the host, as well as one of my dear friends Ashlene Nand. Needless to say, the event was packed, chic & amazing. Fun times.

Mosque Protest on 911
So...I'm walking down Broadway on Saturday morning in a quest to spice up my wardrobe when my path was interrupted by a large protest. I had a feeling some sort of protest would happen on 9/11 but I had no clue it would involve so many people. Apparently, the protest was regarding the mosque that is being built near Ground Zero. I quickly walked passed (you never know with those type of radical folks) but I did get a good photo.

Wyclef Vs. Sean Penn?! *Sigh*
"I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine," That is what Wyclef decided to say during his performance for Hot 97's On The Reggae Tip Concert...He even dissed his former group member Pras "I got a message for Praswell, even though you don't want to support me, I got love for you, even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees."

I'm sorry Wyclef. I doubt Sean Penn would even bother talking about this if he didn't have a valid point. Penn was a little skeptical about Wyclef's bid for Presidency. If you didn't know, Penn is an activist and literally lived in a small tent in Port-au-Prince (Haiti's Capitol) after the earthquake to help those in need...for 6 MONTHS! He claimed he never saw Wyclef while he was there.

Have a Safe & Fabulous Labor Day Weekend
There isn't much to blog about today. Everyone seems to be gone already for Labor Day Weekend. I am actually leaving the Big Apple to attend my sister's bbq in Connecticut on Saturday. She called me yesterday to tell me she bought over 10lbs of steak, chicken and of course Pernil LOL. We are clearly not vegetarians. My family usually plays all latin music with a touch of New Jack Swing at gatherings...and of course Mr. Stevie Wonder <3

Apparently, McDonald's is too much competition for them & they can't compete with their low prices. Personally, I haven't ate a McDonald's burger since someone told me their beef is made out of meal worms. I was in junior high.
Wendy's definitely trumps it all but I do have a soft spot for a Whopper with Cheese. Hats off to you Burger KANG!

TI & Tiny Arrested for Smoking That Panama Red
I thought I was dreaming when I woke up this morning and received a press release from Allhiphop.com stating that TI and Tiny have been arrested for possession of marijuana. *sigh* Apparently, they were smoking in their Maybach and got stopped during a traffic check point. WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING? I'm not hating on the activity BUT wait until you get home at least. His bop sheet is a little too long to be so care free.
Anyway, I really hope he or she doesn't get in trouble for this. Not the best decision but the crime really wasn't *that* serious.
